Richard Loncraine directs this musical drama starring Slade which charts the rise and fall of a rock band in the 1960s. When members of two struggling bands come together in 1967 to form Flame, Robert Seymour (Tom Conti) signs them and helps make them successful while also exploiting their talent for his own gain. As their aggressive former manager Ron Harding (Johnny Shannon) demands his share of the profits, tensions escalate between bandmates Stoker (Noddy Holder) and Paul (Jim Lea) and the band split up at the height of their fame.
