Shyam Benegal directs this Hindi-language drama set during the early days of India´s dairy development programme, which ultimately led to the once milk-deficient country becoming the world´s largest producer of milk. Dr. Manohar Rao (Girish Karnad) and his team visit a poor village in Gujarat with the goal of setting up a dairy which will be owned and managed by the villagers.
