Working with his sister Cyril (Manville), Reynolds Woodcock (Day-Lewis), a prominent dressmaker in 1950s London, dresses a number of high-profile celebrities. When he meets and falls for a young woman named Alma (Vicky Krieps), Reynolds finds his regimented life turned upside down.
