Fernando Arrabal directs this French drama set in the wake of the Spanish Civil War. When Fando (Mahdi Chaouch)´s parents struggle to understand each other´s beliefs, his mother (Núria Espert), a fascist-sympathiser, gives up her husband (Ivan Henriques) as a suspected communist. When he learns that his father has been killed, Fando refuses to believe that he is dead and sets out in search of him.
