Thomas Imbach directs this drama starring Camille Rutherford as the infamous Mary Queen of Scots. The film, also starring Sean Biggerstaff, Aneurin Barnard and Edward Hogg, follows Mary´s story as she returns to her native Scotland from France where she had grown up and married her first husband. Returning as a widow, Mary marries her first cousin who is, not long after, found murdered.
Mary then marries James Hepburn, 4th Earl of Bothwell (Biggerstaff), but by doing so condemns herself to a lifetime of criticism and reproval, even from her cousin Elizabeth I with whom she later seeks solace
