Under the influence of hallucinogenic drugs, he explores altered states of consciousness and experiences a journey back through stages of human evolution which alters his biological structure. Despite the startling changes he inflicts upon himself, Jessup is determined to continue with his research and to delve deeper into his own consciousness, a decision which could cost him everything.
