Seven years after becoming the CEO of ENCOM, Kevin Flynn (Bridges) mysteriously disappears. 20 years later while searching for clues about his father´s whereabouts, Sam Flynn (Hedlund) is pulled into the Grid, a virtual world that Kevin has been inhabiting since he vanished.

Along with Kevin´s loyal apprentice Quorra (Olivia Wilde), the father and son embark on a perilous journey across an advanced universe created by Kevin himself, pursued by a ruthless enemy who will stop at nothing to prevent their escape.
