Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee star in this horror directed by Terence Fisher. As he awaits his execution, Baron Victor Frankenstein (Cushing) shares the story of his life with a priest. Orphaned as a child, Victor works closely with his tutor Paul Krempe (Robert Urquhart) and they begin experimenting on animals until they successfully revive a dead puppy.

Much to Paul´s increasing unease, Victor then works obsessively to create a perfect human out of scavenged body parts. However, the brain he uses is damaged and when he finally succeeds in bringing his Creature (Lee) to life, it cannot be controlled and embarks on a murderous rampage. The cast also includes Hazel Court, Valerie Gaunt and Paul Hardtmuth
