Wes Craven writes and directs this US sci-fi horror based on the DC Comics character. Research scientist Dr Alec Holland (Ray Wise) is working on a top-secret government project when an accident turns him into a giant green monster. While Anton Arcane (Louis Jourdan) invades the facility and leads his army of paramilitary troops to steal the project´s research for himself, Alec rises from the surrounding swamp as Swamp Thing (Dick Durock) to fight back and save his former colleagues
