Tim Thomerson and Helen Hunt star in this sci-fi action thriller directed by Charles Band. Retired police officer Jack Deth (Thomerson) is recalled to service to help capture Martin Whistler (Michael Stefani), a criminal who uses psychic powers to turn people into mindless killers known as Trancers. To evade capture, Whistler travels back in time from 2247 to 1985 and takes over the body of his ancestor, an LAPD detective, but Deth follows him into the past.

As Whistler attempts to take control of the future by killing the ancestors of those who oppose him, Deth joins forces with punk rocker Lena (Hunt) to stop him. The cast also includes Art LaFleur and Biff Manard
