Richard Lester directs an all-star cast in this 1970s adaptation of Alexandre Dumas´ classic novel. In 17th-century France, Musketeers Athos, Porthos and Aramis (Oliver Reed, Frank Finlay and Richard Chamberlain) are in the service of King Louis XIII (Jean-Pierre Cassel) when young d´Artagnan (Michael York) arrives in the capital, creating a stir by single-handedly defeating two soldiers in a magnificent swordfight. Meanwhile, Cardinal Richelieu (Charlton Heston) plots to embarrass the Queen of France (Geraldine Chaplin), but d´Artagnan and the Musketeers come to her rescue.

The cast also includes Raquel Welch, Faye Dunaway and Christopher Lee
