Los Angeles-set car chase thriller from Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn. Ryan Gosling stars as Driver, a Hollywood stunt performer who earns extra money working as a getaway driver for jewellery heists and bank robberies. Having become friendly with his neighbour, Irene (Carey Mulligan), and her son, Benecio (Kaden Leos), the Driver agrees to help Irene´s husband (Oscar Isaac) escape from a robbery with the funds to pay off a gangland debt.

Unfortunately, the job goes horribly wrong and Driver ends up on the run with a bag of loot in the boot of his car and a procession of ruthless gangsters - including Nino (Ron Perlman) and Bernie (Albert Brooks) - hot on his tail
