Busby Berkeley directs this 1940s musical starring Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra. Set in the 1890s, baseball players Eddie O´Brien and Dennis Ryan (Kelly and Sinatra) spend their off-season time on the vaudeville stage. When their baseball team is bought by K.C.

Higgins (Esther Williams), the friends both find themselves falling for her, but with Eddie´s career threatened by gangsters, they may have more pressing matters to deal with first. The cast also includes Betty Garrett, Edward Arnold and Jules Munshin
